Wedding Escort Cards vs. Place Cards

One of the questions we get asked a lot is, “what’s the difference between escort cards and place cards?” It’s not a crazy question—at all. Most people use the terms interchangeably, but there is a slight difference.

Wedding escort cards are a little less formal. Instead of assigning your guests to a particular seat, you’re assigning guests to a table.

Wedding place cards are usually reserved for more formal events and let the guest know exactly where they should be seated.

Either way, you can have so much fun with escort and place cards. You can go for a classic, simple look or something a little more creative like calligraphy directly on their favors. We’ve written on mason jars, coffee mugs succulent planters or on gift tags—the only limit for your wedding escort cards and place cards is our imagination.
