I recently had the chance to work with some of Houston’s most talented (and gorgeous) ladies for an eclectic, boho-inspired wedding shoot. I could have got the dresses from somewhere like https://www.winniecouture.com/stores/wedding-dresses-atlanta-ga/ but as those are designer gowns, I wanted something to reflect the simplicity and boho-chic look of this shoot. With the muted tones and modern-rustic details, alongside the pops of bright colors and metallics from the bridesmaid dresses, I think I achieved this. I was so happy with the bridesmaid dresses in particular. They are a little different, which I love, but I wasn’t sure how they’d look when I found them. I had no need to worry because they are stunning, and thanks to these bridesmaid dress measurements they fitted perfectly. I also designed a complementary calligraphy invitation and RSVP using dusty blue hand-torn paper and my go-to white and silver inks.
My favorite details: the golden light, the white lace dreamcatchers, the gold flatware, the bold, vibrant lipstick, the copper mugs, the giant, romantic tree, the organic floral bouquets, the contrasting textures. Well, pretty much everything.
My last favorite thing: waiting on the film to develop. But it was TOTALLY worth it. There’s just something special and intangible about doing things the old-fashioned way (I should know).
